The defender was acquired by the Spanish club for an estimated figure of £10 million.

Kambwala, who is 19 years old, was promoted to the Red Devils’ first team last season and played in 10 matches.

Manchester United will incorporate a buy-back clause into his contract with Villarreal, as reported by The Daily Mail.

For the succeeding three years, the clause will remain in effect until 2027.

Furthermore, it is alleged that Villarreal has a substantial sell-on clause in the event that Kambwala departs the club.

He has signed a contract with the eastern Spain club that will continue until 2029.

The defender was acquired by the LaLiga team for a paltry £4.7m, according to the publication.

This suggests that the remaining portion of the charge will be offset by add-ons.

Man United confirmed the transfer and expressed their appreciation for the youngster.

The following was stated: “Willy departs with the heartfelt gratitude of Manchester United and our most sincere well-wishes for the next chapter of his career.”

In December 2023, Kambwala made his professional debut for the Red Devils, playing alongside Jonny Evans.

Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus secured the victory for the hosts that resulted in a defeat for West Ham in the away match.

He also played a role in the FA Cup’s quarter-final victory over Liverpool.

In October 2020, Kambwala transferred from Sochaux, a French club, to the club.

The defender has been praised by manager Erik ten Hag in the past, as he perceives him as possessing “high potential.”
