Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United loanee, scored during Getafe’s 1-1 draw with Real Betis in a pivotal La Liga match.

Greenwood scored his team’s opening goal eight minutes into the game from the penalty spot.

He sent the Betis custodian the wrong way as he coolly placed the ball into the bottom-right corner.

But when Isco scored from the spot-kick as well, Getafe was pinned back just ten minutes from halftime.

Greenwood thought he would have a chance to win it for Getafe when he went down inside the box late in the match, but the referee decided the United loanee was not fouled.

Both teams had to make do with sharing the win at Estadio Benito Villamarín.

The Englishman has four goals and the same amount of assists in 18 league games.

Due to an incident involving himself and Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Real Madrid, he has been in the headlines recently.

Bellingham was seen on video this week mumbling a racial insult to Greenwood as Real Madrid defeated Getafe 2-0. The former Borussia Dortmund player is said to have dubbed his compatriot a “rap–t.”

It was reported that Greenwood wants to move on fast and concentrate just on his football, thus he doesn’t want any drama created over the matter.

Based on his amazing performance against Betis, he didn’t seem to be bothered by it.

During his time on the pitch, the 22-year-old recorded 52 touches of the ball. With a pass accuracy of 73%, he was able to find his teammates with 24 out of the 33 passes he attempted to make.

Twice, Greenwood made crucial passes.
