United’s first preseason tour match ended in a 1-0 loss to Rosenborg at the Lerkendal Stadion in Norway.

And barely eighteen minutes into the game, Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag nearly witnessed the start of the frightening injury catastrophe from the previous season.

Tomas Nemcik of Rosenborg attempted to advance the ball, but Casemiro stopped him.

Casemiro was on the receiving end of an X-rated tackle during Man United's friendly with Rosenborg

Nemcik nearly broke the Brazilian’s leg in two by slamming his shin with his left foot in an attempt to regain possession of the ball.

The Slovakian was shown a yellow card, but happily the United player was able to stand again.

The image left the Manchester giants’ supporters completely stunned, and they swiftly took to social media.

A fan tweeted: “There is absolutely no reason for that tackle to occur. Almost cost us $20–30 million in just one challenge.”

A different person said, “Casemiro getting snapped today.”

The supporter responded: “Why would you do that in a preseason friendly its ridiculous.”

And he exclaimed, “Bruh.”

Given Saudi Arabia’s interest in Casemiro, a high-profile summer exit seems certain.

Despite being under pressure for the most of the match, Man Utd appeared to be able to hold out for a draw because of Radek Vitek, their stand-in goalie.

But Noah Holm scored with what was essentially the final kick of the match, giving the Norwegians the victory over the Red Devils.
