The Taylor Swift as Dazzler rumors first began when the singer’s likeness was used for the musical mutant’s album cover in X-Men: Apocalypse. Nothing ever came of it back then, but the rumors persisted.

Speculation really kicked into overdrive when the pop megastar was spotted at the Kansas City Chiefs versus New York Jets game with Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy and stars Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) in 2023.

Levy was asked about the Dazzler rumors last year, and declined to confirm or deny Swift’s involvement in the R-rated threequel.

“I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”

Earlier today, shortly after tickets for the movie went on sale, Reynolds was asked about a potential part for Swift.

“There’s so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film. I saw one that was convinced that Elvis is in the movie. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”

Swift appears in the film, although from what we’ve heard, she plays herself rather than Alison Blair. But according to a recent report, the musician may be planning a future appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Swift had “good meeting with Kevin Feige, and they are discussing a role in the MCU.”

This doesn’t mean that Swift is in official talks, or that she’s set to play Dazzler. Though it may seem like a major missed opportunity to cast her as anyone else, Swift has appeared in a number of film and TV projects over the years, and may want to branch out by playing a character people wouldn’t necessarily expect.
