In an interview, Aaron Wan-Bissaka said that he felt lonely while playing for Manchester United.
When United paid £45 million to get Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace, he was thought to be one of the best right-backs in the Premier League.
He joined at the age of 21 and was put right into the starting lineup right away. In his first two seasons, he played 100 games.
The English player played fewer games in the years that followed, and he left the club in the summer to join West Ham in a £15 million deal.
When asked about his time at United, he told The Standard, “It was hard.” Really tough.
It was my first time moving away from home, and I did it by myself. I was the only one up there with my PlayStation.
“Everyone in Manchester knows what’s going on because it’s smaller.” You have to have a strong mind to stay away from the bad things that come with it.
Wan-Bissaka missed his home so much that he would go back to London after training and then come back up north that same night.
That being said, the full-back got tired of traveling and started to get used to his new home.
He also said, “I came back as a man.” More grown up, more stable, and more focused.
He said this about his choice to leave: “I talked to the club, and they thought this was the best chance for me.”
“They let me think about it for a while.” Right then, I didn’t, but I told my family and friends about it, and we all agreed that it was time.
