Kids were thrilled when Aaron Wan-Bissaka showed up at his old elementary school this week during a school event as a surprise.
Kids’ TV host Ben Shires met the students at New Addington’s Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School to start a fun afternoon. It got the kids excited before he introduced Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who used to be one of his students. That Palace right back was excited to go back to his old school and help motivate the kids who were still there. When he walked out, people chanted his name, and he then took part in a question-and-answer session led by Shires. To see how much the students knew about football, three lucky students were brought on stage for the next question.
He gave the school a signed shirt that he had worn in a game as a last gift for the kids.
“It felt good,” Kanye West said. I haven’t been back in a while. This place holds all of my fond memories, so it’s great to be back.
“I wasn’t ready for that warm welcome; I’ve never had anything like it before….it felt good!” I was here ten years ago, if you remember. It makes me feel good to see how far I’ve come.
He went to this school ten years ago and many teachers knew him from that time. Elaine Snow, who used to work for him as a teacher’s assistant, said, “I was his TA in sixth grade.” Our class was crazy, but he was a great kid. Even then, he loved football, just like all the other boys!”
It was so much fun for the kids, and they’ll always remember it. Aaron was happy to return to New Addington, where he grew up. The shirt will always be kept in a frame.
The cleaner, Colm Conneely, liked the player and said, “It was great to see him after all these years.” When he was here, he was a good boy who never got into trouble. The best part was that he remembered my name!
