The French player would play on the left wing instead of Vinicius. He will probably sign for free at the end of the season, but at the Bernabeu, he would be the highest-paid player in the world.

Mbappe could be making more than £600,000 a week, and even though Madrid would save money on a transfer fee, it would still cost them about £30 million a year to keep the French player.

United is said to be ready to pay £130 million for the Brazilian, so that could be good news for them.

The question of whether Vinicius would be happy to move to Old Trafford without the chance to play in the Champions League is still open.
