Because Nike dropped Greenwood, he practiced with his new team, Getafe, in boots that are seven years old.
As Getafe gets ready for La Liga later this month, the player who scored a goal was seen working out with his friends.
Greenwood kicked the first ball for Getafe.
He was wearing Nike boots that were seven years old.
Last year, Greenwood’s contract with Nike came to an end.
Nike, the business that made his shoes, fired him in 2022, but he kept wearing them.
A few days ago, he worked out in a park by himself with his dad. He last worked out with the whole team about a year ago.
She wore black Nike Phantom GX boots to the park jam in June.
Since Nike fired him, he hasn’t signed with any other boot company.
Greenwood seems more focused on getting bigger and fit at the gym, but we don’t think he’s match fit.
Getafe also sent Greenwood a video of his friends telling him to work out on a pitch outside of Madrid.
It says “We love you Mason Greenwood” on it.
The 21-year-old winner can now play football again thanks to the La Liga team.
The message said, “Hi Getafe fans, this is Mason.”
“I can’t wait to start!”
Getafe also tweeted a picture of Greenwood holding up the team’s blue home shirt.
The writing said “Mason Greenwood ya esta aqui,” which means “Mason Greenwood is here.”
Spain’s club talked about the deal on Friday, just before the summer transfer market closed.
United will pay him most of his £75,000-a-week salary if he stays in Spain for a while. The loan doesn’t cost anything.
The club also said in a press statement, “The move gives Greenwood a chance to start over with his career away from Manchester United.”
It’s not going to change that the club will still help Mason and his family.
United had already said that Greenwood and the club had “mutually agreed” to end their relationship once they knew why he was being held.
He went to jail in October of last year. All charges against him were dropped in February.
If the club wants to, they can add one more year to Greenwood’s contract. He still has two years to go.
To get rid of him, the club would have had to pay over £8 million.
Greenwood’s uniform number and his £75,000-a-week pay became public after more news spread about his move to Getafe.
