After the 2026 World Cup qualifying match with Brazil, superstar Lionel Messi admitted to having a muscle problem.
In Argentina’s minimal victory over Brazil on away soil, superstar Lionel Messi was unable to play until the end of the match. He was replaced in the 78th minute and admitted to suppressing pain during his time on the field.
The player playing for Inter Miami said: “I feel discomfort in my groin muscle. This is my last fight of the year, so I have time to recover before the start of 2024.”
Messi had a problem right before the match between Brazil vs Argentina started. The match was delayed for 27 minutes when he was injured and there was a violent incident between fans and the police force.
Argentina’s 2-0 win over Peru on Thursday was Messi’s first return to action since October 21, when he played his last match against Inter Miami. The superstar born in 1987 has been struggling with injuries throughout this season as he has continuously struggled since the 2022 World Cup. When he first joined Miami, this player also suffered a hamstring injury.
However, Messi’s season is over, so he can take time to rest and recover. He will have nearly 2 months to rest, before returning in early January to practice and prepare for the new season.
