The Saudi Arabian club has until Monday to close their doors, but they brought transfer deadline day to life by making offers for both Toney and Napoli player Victor Osimhen, who is wanted by Chelsea. They can only sign one player, though.

Toney wasn’t sure if he should take the valuable three-year deal now that would work for Brentford or wait until January when he might have more choices.

Arsenal was interested in Toney at one point, but later decided not to go through with the move because Brentford wanted a very high price for the England international.

Later, Brentford agreed to the Saudi Pro League team’s £40 million offer because they know it’s the best way to make money off of their star scorer.

Toney was seen arriving in London earlier that day for his medical. The checkup was finished afterward, and the deal was confirmed by the Saudi team at 1am on Saturday.

Toney had a rough summer because he wanted to leave the Bees, where he had been for four years after moving there from Peterborough United.

When Mail Sport said that Manchester United was thinking about adding Toney to their striking line, they hadn’t made an offer for the player yet.

Chelsea was also interested in making a deal before the transfer window closed, which meant that the Red Devils had to deal with competition from Stamford Bridge.

Even though Chelsea’s team size has been criticised, Toney wasn’t the only player they were looking at.

Victor Osimhen’s transfer was also being talked about by Enzo Maresca’s team as a one-year loan deal with a chance to buy with Napoli.

The center-forward’s deal was up in 2026, and Gli Azzurri planned to sell him before today, which is the last day of the Italian summer transfer window.

Toney was not in his team’s last gameday group of the season either, just like Osimhen.
