Erik ten Hag could get angry at Alejandro Garnacho for liking an Instagram post that caused a stir.
The Manchester United winger liked a post from Fabrizio Romano that talked about how Cristiano Ronaldo recently said bad things about Ten Hag, the boss of the Red Devils.
In a recent interview, the Portugal international said United needed to “rebuild” and asked Ten Hag why he said the club couldn’t fight for the league.
Even though Garnacho has since “liked” the post, a lot of people noticed right away.
Two stints with Manchester United came to an end in 2022 after a fight with Ten Hag.
In an interview with Rio Ferdinand, the Portuguese star talked about leaving.
He said, “The coach of Manchester United can NOT say that they can’t compete to win the Premier League and the Champions League every year.”
“This is Manchester United!” Listen, maybe we don’t have that ability, but I can’t say that. You have to be there to say that in your mind. We’re likely to try. You need to try.
“This is why Manchester United needs to start over.”
Ronaldo then said that ten Hag should listen to what his assistant Ruud van Nistelrooy had to say about United’s morals.
Ronaldo said, “Maybe ten Hag can help if he listens to Ruud van Nistelrooy.” He knows the club, and it’s very important that the club listens to the guys who were there.
“Rio Ferdinand, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Sir Alex Ferguson… you should ask these people for help.”
“You can’t fix up a club without clues.”
Both Ronaldo and Garnacho played for United together and played in six games together in 2022.
Garnacho, who is 20 years old, has started in all three of United’s Premier League games this season. He set up a goal against Fulham in the first game of the season and came on as a replacement against Brighton before starting in the loss to Liverpool.
Ten Hag has a lot of respect for the Argentine international, but some fans think he should be dropped because he liked the post.
Well-known United YouTuber Mark Goldbridge wrote, “Garnacho will be sitting on the bench this weekend for liking that Ronaldo post lol.”
Another fan wrote, “Now Garnacho is going to be out of the squad until he apologises for the bald fraud.”
A Chelsea fan said that ten Hag might now be able to keep Garnacho out. He wrote, “Watch Ten Hag now. He will freeze out Garnacho.” If you trade Garnacho for Mudryk in January, I’ll be there.
Ten Hag’s team lost to Brighton and Liverpool before the international break, and the debate over Garnacho’s liked post could make things even worse for him.
United plays again on Saturday, when they go on the road to play Southampton.
Before the April game between Man United and Bournemouth, Ten Hag was criticised in two social media posts that Garnacho liked.
United had a tough game at the Vitality Stadium, but Bruno Fernandes scored twice to earn a point.
Some famous United fans, like Mark Goldbridge, tweeted that Ten Hag was wrong to take Garnacho off and to say that the Argentine’s work rate was a reason for it after the game.
More than 700,000 people follow Garnacho on X, and he was seen liking both of Goldbridge’s tweets, which started a fight on social media.
