Mason Mount has handed Manchester United another boost after he began training on the grass at Carrington again on Wednesday.
Mount has missed the last nine games since suffering a calf injury five weeks ago, but it’s hoped that the England international could return to action early in the New Year as he follows an individual training programme.

The 24-year-old has struggled since joining United from Chelsea for £60million in the summer, registering just one assist and no goals in 12 games for his new club.
Mount’s problems have been a symbol of United’s offensive problems this season, but Erik ten Hag’s team found their rhythm in the second half of the team’s Boxing Day victory over Aston Villa, as Rasmus Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal, Alejandro Garnacho doubled his team’s goal total, and Marcus Rashford got back to his usual self.
On Wednesday morning, while the rest of his teammates finished their recuperation session following their thrilling victory over Aston Villa, Mount finished his individual training in the rain.
After a lackluster start to life in red, he will be looking to really jumpstart his career at Old Trafford.
