Manchester United faces the challenge of finding a replacement for Marcus Rashford, who has expressed his desire to leave the club. With Rashford now sidelined from the matchday squad by coach Ruben Amorim for three consecutive games, the club is considering a loan exit for him in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Amid this uncertainty, reports suggest that Barcelona’s Raphinha could be a potential target for United. The Brazilian winger has had a standout season, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions. His versatility—able to play as a left winger, right winger, or No. 10—makes him an appealing option for Amorim, who is reportedly “obsessed” with bringing him to Old Trafford.
Raphinha’s prior experience in the Premier League with Leeds United adds to his attractiveness, and United is rumored to be willing to offer €80 million plus €10 million in variables for the player, who is considered an “indispensable pillar” in Hansi Flick’s system at Barcelona.
Given Barcelona’s financial struggles, such a substantial offer could prompt the club to consider selling him. Raphinha’s contract with Barcelona runs until 2027, and his current market value is estimated at €60 million.
In addition to Raphinha, United is reportedly interested in Viktor Gyokeres, a promising talent under Amorim’s management in Lisbon, and Gregor Kobel from Borussia Dortmund. Pursuing all three players could cost Manchester United around €230 million next summer, highlighting the club’s ambition to strengthen its squad amidst ongoing challenges.
