In Uganda on Tuesday night, Cameroon and Zimbabwe played to a 0-0 draw. As Manchester United custodian Andre Onana tried to leave the field, there was chaos.

Many people in Uganda are big United fans—a Facebook group for fans from the country has almost 600,000 members—and Onana’s arrival in the country over the last few days has caused a lot of excitement.

Zimbabwe’s home AFCON qualifying games are being held at the Namboole Stadium in Uganda because their grounds were deemed not up to par.

Hundreds of fans tried to get near the Premier League star after the international match between Cameroon and Zimbabwe in Uganda

That meant that United fans in Uganda knew that Onana would be playing at the Kampala Stadium on Tuesday night.

A lot of people wanted pictures with him when the Cameroon team arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Sunday. Even airport staff and security wanted to take pictures with him.

A lot of United fans were in the stands when the star player for the Red Devils kept Zimbabwe scoreless.

Cameroon couldn’t follow up their 1-0 win over Namibia over the weekend, but Onana made several saves to keep the score 0-0 with Zimbabwe.

After the game, there were crazy scenes as Onana tried to leave and get back to the airport. 

As soon as Onana came out into the open, hundreds of fans rushed to get close to the Premier League star.

As soon as the army cleared the road, he was quickly sucked into a Toyota Premio, where the team bus was left behind.
