After his deal with Manchester United expired at the end of June, the forward is still free to sign with any team.

It looked like he was going to join Flamengo earlier this month, but the deal fell through because the two sides couldn’t agree on how long the contract would be.

A lot of teams, like Lille, Atalanta, Marseille, and Besiktas, have been interested in Martial since he left Manchester United.

He turned down the chance to sign with that team before, but now he seems ready to.

Sport24 says that Martial and AEK Athens have agreed to terms over the phone and are now exchanging final paperwork.

The 28-year-old will sign a £2.5 million-a-season deal with the Greek team for three years.

People say that his contract is the best one the club has ever had in its 100-year history.

Elsewhere at AEK, Erik Lamela, Nordin Amrabat, and Roberto Pereyra are already big names from the Premier League. Martial will join them.

The Greek team, which has won the Super League 13 times, is currently in first place after going undefeated to start the season. But they can’t play in Europe anymore because they lost shockingly to Noah of Armenia in Conference League qualifying.

After a poor last season with Manchester United, Martial will be coming to the club. He could only make 19 starts because of injuries, most notably after surgery on his groin in January.

The Frenchman did score 90 goals in 317 games for United during his nine years in England, though.

If his move to AEK goes through on time, he could play his first game away at Kallithea on Sunday night.
