Antonio Rudiger did what he always does when Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup.
Real Madrid beat Barcelona 5–3, and the German defender got a goal. The team will now play in the Supercopa de España final on Sunday.
It was hard for Madrid to play their foes in a crazy game, but Rudiger still found time to have fun in the second half.
The center back, who is known for doing crazy things, was seen grabbing Alvaro Morata, the scorer for Atleti.
But Morata wouldn’t have any of it. He swung his arm hard at the German player, who couldn’t stop laughing.
Ever since they played together for two years at Chelsea, Morata probably wouldn’t have taken it too seriously.
Together, they won the FA Cup in 2017–18. Morata left in 2020, but Rudiger stayed at Chelsea and won the Champions League.
Both of them have played for Real Madrid, but Rudiger is the one who stands out in Spain right now. He could win another title this weekend.
The runners-up in La Liga and the Copa del Rey are the only teams in the Spanish Super Cup. In the other semi-final, Barcelona will play Osasuna.
The bad news for Morata is that he’ll have to deal with Rudiger a lot more because the Madrid derby is happening twice more in 30 days.
On January 18, they play each other in the round of 16 of the Copa, and on February 3, they play each other in La Liga.
Atleti will see the league match as a big chance to take points away from winners Real. Real and Girona are currently tied for first place with 14 points each, while Atleti is not in the top four.
