For the Premier League encounter against Everton, Erik ten Hag will be missing nine players, after Jonny Evans and England forward Marcus Rashford were cleared to play during the warm-up.

Marcus Rashford will be eligible for Manchester United’s Premier League encounter against Everton on Saturday afternoon. However, Erik ten Hag does not have many options to rearrange his pack after a humiliating 3-1 loss to Manchester City, his neighbors, due to injury issues.

For that match, United was short eight players, and Rashford and Jonny Evans had to be substituted. But Ten Hag stated both players will be available at Old Trafford during his pre-match press conference, while Rashford was seen on Wednesday morning working out at Carrington.

United lack depth defensively, with injuries plaguing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, and Luke Shaw. Ten Hag may only be able to field a back-four consisting of Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Evans, and Lindelof unless youngster Willy Kambwala is given more playing time.

In recent games, Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo have established themselves as the engine room’s regular duo, but Scott McTominay must also be taken into consideration. Since Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, and Alejandro Garnacho are almost guaranteed to start, the race for the final position may be a straight fight between McTominay and Antony, whose arrival would force a reorganization of the attacking lineup.

Rashford is another candidate to lead the line centrally, but Fernandes played as a false nine against City with Garnacho, McTominay, and Rashford in behind him, from right to left. Although reinforcements are en route, Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund will find that the Everton match comes too soon.

The next FA Cup match against Liverpool should see Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, and Hojlund available, while Mount’s return is scheduled for after the international break. Omari Forson (unspecified), who had a brief appearance in the City reversal, is currently undergoing treatment.
