After his mean act towards Tottenham, Jamie Vardy’s fans have asked for him to be honored with a statue.
Following his win in the Championship last season, the Leicester City star made a big splash on his return to the Premier League.
It was a draw at the King Power Stadium after the second half, thanks to a header from Vardy, who is 37 years old.
A can of Red Bull was seen in his hand during the break, 12 minutes before he scored. This is part of the diet he’s famous for.
In the 79th minute, new boss Steve Cooper took the veteran off the pitch.
Spurs fans and Cristian Romero were sad for Vardy as he went off the pitch.
But he replied by making a very mean motion while pointing to the Premier League badge on his shirt.
He then raised one finger, pointed to the crowd, made a zero with his hand, and raised two fingers simultaneously.
That was meant to show that he had won England’s top league, while the North London club is still hoping to win the title now that it’s called the Premier League.
Fans of Arsenal saw the moment on social media and want a statue to be made in Vardy’s name.
“Vardy reminds Spurs fans of how many Premier League titles they’ve won,” one person wrote. That’s cool.”
“An absolute all-time great this man is,” said a second. “Raise his statue.”
One wrote: “Vardy out here giving Spurs fans a quick reminder of their Premier League title count haha.”
A fourth said, “Someone should sculpt this guy.”
Someone else said, “Romero met his match lmao.”
Pedro Porro gave Spurs the lead in the first half, but Vardy scored to even things up.
The game was also stopped for a long time because Spurs star Rodrigo Bentancur hurt his head.
The Uruguayan player was taken off because of a concussion. Later, it was established that the player was awake and talking to medical staff.
Spurs got a very important point in their first game back in the Premier League thanks to Vardy’s goal.
Vardy said after the game that he had only had a few full training sessions since getting hurt in pre-season.
“If I’m being honest, one of the Villareal players tried to put my leg into Geneva Lake,” he told Sky Sports.
“It was some bone-on-bone contact that hurt the knee.”
“All you can do is let it settle down, and I managed to get some full training sessions in.”
