Antony, a failed player for Manchester United, got a big tattoo on his back of himself admiring it when he scored for Ajax. Fans are mad about this.
It was tattoo artist Bruno Lopes who shared a picture of the 24-year-old Brazilian winger getting the tattoo on Instagram.
In 2022, he scored a late goal against Feyenoord that helped his team win the AFC title. In this shot, he’s having fun.
For Erik ten Hag’s Ajax team, that goal was very important. They beat Manchester United by two points to win the title.
Ten Hag then moved to Manchester United in the summer of 2015, and Antony went from Ajax to United for £85.5 million.
Off-field charges, on the other hand, ruined his good start to the season.
He hasn’t done well since then. He has only scored three goals and set up one in 38 games, and only one of those goals was in the Premier League.
He threw a fit against Liverpool, and he did it again when he was moved to left back in the loss to Arsenal.
Antony was also called mean names after United beat Coventry on penalties to advance to the FA Cup Final, where they will play Man City on May 25.
Their season has been bad in every way, even though they are only eighth in the league. They’re on track for the worst Premier League finish ever.
There is a chance that they won’t make it to European football at all because they have lost 19 games in all tournaments. This is the most since the 1978–79 season.
This evening, United plays Newcastle at Old Trafford. Also, they don’t want to lose their tenth home game of the season, which would be the most ever.
When pictures of Antony getting his tattoo showed up on Instagram, people who didn’t like him quickly spoke out against him.
“More tattoos than good games,” one fan who saw the photos on social media said.
“Man got himself a tattoo,” sixth said.
Someone else made a joke: “Who has a tattoo of their own face?” with smiley faces smiling.
“Nothing but hate for football; would rather get tattoos than play football and pay attention to your upcoming games” was one of the worst comments.
“This is amazing; I can’t believe Manchester United has players like this.”
Lopes did all the tattoos on the attacker’s back. The tattoos are a tribute to Lopes’s childhood in the poor favelas of Brazil.
As a nod to that, the tattoo shows him enjoying his Ajax goal while looking out over what looks like his old home.
