Claims that Barcelona player Gavi hurt Aurelien Tchouameni’s foot have been denied by the midfielder for Real Madrid.
After playing 90 minutes in the weekend’s Clasico, Tchouameni was identified with a stress fracture in his foot. He could miss up to two months of action because of this.
As people looked for the cause of the injury, a video surfaced on social media that showed a crash with Gavi. The Barcelona player hit Tchouameni on the foot, leaving him limping. This led to claims that Gavi was to blame.
When Tchouameni saw the video, he wrote on social media, “It’s not Gavi’s fault.” I got hurt near the end of the first half.
Carlo Ancelotti has a big hole in the middle of the field without Tchouameni. While his fellow Frenchman recovers, Eduardo Camavinga is expected to become Madrid’s starting defender. Toni Kroos filled that role last season but has been criticized this year for not being able to move around enough. It’s also been a difficult season for Luka Modric, who has only started three La Liga games and wants to play more.
Arda Guler, an attacking midfielder, is about to make his start, which is good news for Madrid. The Turkish kid had surgery on his knee soon after joining in the summer, which made it harder for him to try to come back.
Guler is back in training, and even though he missed El Clasico, he might make his start in the Champions League match against Braga on November 8—after next weekend’s game against Rayo Vallecano.
