Many Barcelona players played badly against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, which led to the Catalan giants being knocked out of the Champions League after a 6-4 overall loss. Joao Cancelo may have been the worst player at the Estadi Olimpic. He is responsible for two of PSG’s four goals.
When PSG scored the equalizer, Ousmane Dembele was lost at the back post by Cancelo. He also gave away the penalty that put the French winners ahead overall. Members of the Barcelona board didn’t like how he played, and they’re not sure if they should try to make another deal with Manchester City in the summer, as stated by Sport.
The club does plan to make another loan deal with Man City, though, at least for now. This time, they want to include a “mandatory buy” measure that would make sure he stays in Catalonia permanently.
Man City wants at least €40 million for Cancelo. In the past few months, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Al Hilal have also shown interest in the player. His main goal, though, is to stay at Barcelona.
