A story on the Spanish news site Fichajes says that Barcelona wants to sign Isco. The summer transfer window in 2024 is coming up, and top La Liga teams are looking for midfielders. They are now interested in the former Real Madrid player because of this.

Isco had a bad season in 2022–23 after he became a free agent and left Real Madrid. Even though he was never a first-choice starter for Real Madrid, the Spanish player did very well at the Santiago Bernañeu. He won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga more than once. As of last year, though, his time with Real Madrid was over.

The 31-year-old player went to Sevilla as part of a Bosman deal. At first, he had a great time at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium. Isco’s time at the Andalusian club was cut short by problems behind the scenes, and in December 2022, his contract was up. After that, the player didn’t have a team until this summer, when Real Betis got him for free.

After playing for Real Madrid, the player quickly became a part of the Verdi̙lancos and is now an important part of the team. So far, Isco has scored three goals and set up three others in 17 games. Those are great numbers. Many people have seen what the Spanish player has done, and Barcelona wants to sign him.

This summer, Ilkay Gundogan and Oriol Romeu were added to Barcelona’s midfield. But both of them are too old, so they need to find new midfielders everywhere. Barcelona is interested in several young midfielders, including Gaëriel Moscardo. But sneak strikes are also aimed at Isco.

It might not make sense to sign Isco, but he will be a good deal since his deal with Real Betis was only for a year. Because he has played a lot of La Liga games, the former Real Madrid player could be a good short-term choice for Barcelona.

Real Betis might try to sign the 31-year-old to a new deal before his current one ends, though. If Isco doesn’t agree to new terms with Real Betis, it will be interesting to see if Barcelona can sign him.
