People who support Barcelona were devastated when they heard that Gavi was hurt.
The young player was on international service at the time, and he was clearly in a lot of pain when he fell on the field. It wasn’t a good look, and later tests showed that the child had hurt his ACL.
Soon after, the club made a public statement confirming the same thing. This pretty much meant that the midfield star would not be playing again this season. He would have to go under the knife because he hurt both his cruciate ligament and his knee.
Surgery set to happen
AS told us that Gavi’s surgery will happen tomorrow. The Hospital of Barcelona will host the event, and Dr. Joan Carles Monllau is likely to be in charge of it.
The midfielder will be out for a certain amount of time, depending on how well and how much the treatment fixes. Anyhow, a quick return is not an option.
So, Barcelona will be hoping that the surgery goes well on the first try so that there aren’t any problems in the future.
In the end, Ansu Fati’s situation got worse after multiple surgeries were done on the same wound.
Important tests are coming up
It was terrible for FC Barcelona that Gavi got hurt at the worst possible time. The next few weeks will see three “virtual finals” for the Azulgranas. If they lose any points, it will have huge effects.
The first of the Catalans’ three games is a Wednesday matchup with Porto. If the team loses tonight, they might not be able to finish first in the league, which is a big task for Xavi Hernandez.
The boss will hope that Frenkie de Jong and Pedri play their best on the night since Gavi is out.
