We all know that Barcelona is working hard to make sure they can sign Vitor Roque before the January transfer window closes.
Deco, the club’s sporting director, and even Xavi Hernandez want to bring the Italian to Catalonia after the new year.
On the other hand, Barcelona has heard mixed things about the club’s finances as the January transfer window approaches.
Good news
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona’s finances could be hurt by the La Liga Delegated Commission’s vote on Friday to allow changes to be made to economic control.
That’s because of one of the changes made to how COVID’s losses are paid back. Until now, clús had to pay a certain amount of money every year.
But now La Liga has chosen to limit a club’s turnover each year. This will let those clubs spread their losses over more years.
This is good for Barcelona because they don’t have to pay the expected €80 million. This means that the squad cost cap of €270 million should be raised.
Victor Roque didn’t get enough.
Even though Barcelona is likely to save money because of the choice, it won’t be enough for the club to sign Vitor Roque.
As things stand, the Catalans still owe La Liga €40 million, which is making the club’s funds slow down.
Libero bought a piece of Barca Studio in the summer and owes Barcelona €40 million. Another thing the club could do is sell some of its most important stars.
Barcelona can use 50% of the money they get when they sell a player and 60% if the player’s pay is at least 5% of the total cost of the staff.
Barcelona won’t be able to sign Vitor Roque until either of these conditions is met. The January transfer window is coming up.
