Barcelona has been looking for a player to replace Sergio Busquets as the team’s center midfielder.

Their try with Oriol Romeu didn’t work out because the €3.5 million player couldn’t keep up the good form he showed at the beginning of the season for the rest of the season.

Since then, Andreas Christensen has filled in admirably, but he is not a long-term option for Barcelona in that spot.

The plan is to get some money together and sign a player who can play number six in the middle to long term.

Among the names that have been brought up is that of a certain Serie A midfielder, whose managers have already talked to Deco about a possible move.

Is it time for Lobotka?

The player in question is Stanislav Lobotka, who plays for Napoli. He moved to Italy from Celta Vigo for €20 million in 2020 and has been playing football there ever since.

A story from SPORT says that Barcelona is interested in him, but they will have to make an offer of at least €50 million.

His lawyer said after the 3-1 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League, “We talked about it with Deco. Barcelona would sign him, but a lot of things would have to happen first.”

In terms of style, Xavi said he sees himself in Lobotka as a creator who doesn’t lose the ball very often.

Avoids the question of Barcelona

After the international break, Lobotka was asked about what Xavi said about him while they were still at the airport.

He responded, “Of course, it’s great to hear that my childhood hero, Xavi, likes the way I play.”
