Giants of La Liga Barcelona have been given the option to recruit a free-agent midfield player from English club Leicester City.
Diario Sport claims as much, identifying Wilfred Ndidi as the player in issue.
The contract of Nigerian international Ndidi with Leicester is about to expire in the summer.
As talks on a renewal have not advanced far, the 27-year-old has been made available through middlemen to the previously mentioned Barcelona.
Naturally, it is well known that the Barca management is searching for deep-lying midfield reinforcements for the upcoming campaign.
And Ndidi, who is having an outstanding individual season in The Championship, definitely seems to meet the criteria.
Sport then goes on to say that Blaugrana head coach Xavi “has followed the player and considers that he is an interesting footballer and that he would fit into the team.”
It is also noteworthy, though, that the Camp Nou board is already engaged in talks with Guido Rodríguez of Real Betis, another upcoming free-agency midfield player.
