Noah Darvich, a young player for Barcelona, led Germany to victory over France in the Under-17 World Cup final on Saturday.
It was the first time that Germany won the trophy. They beat France in a spot shootout to become world champions. France came back from being down two goals to tie the game at 2-2. Germany was ahead after a penalty kick by Paris Brunner and a goal by Darvich.
But things changed in the second half. France tied the game, Germany lost a player named Winners Osawe, and then France scored another goal.
After that, Germany won the shootout 4–3, which meant that Darvich and his team could lift the prize. He was taken off in the second half after Osawe was sent off, and they quickly talked about the game afterward.
He said, “It was a real fight.” “Getting sent off in that kind of game is painful. I was the one who had to leave, but our team did a great job.”
Excellent job, Hi, Noah Darvich!
