Under new sports director Deco, FC Barcelona is keeping a close eye on the brightest young players in the world, with a particular emphasis on youth recruitment.

According to SPORT, which cited Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona is keeping a careful eye on the development of 18-year-old Swedish forward Roony Bardghji, who plays forward for FC Copenhagen in Denmark.

Less than a month ago, Bardghji, who graduated from the Malmo Academy in 2020, joined the Danish team. He has advanced quickly and is now a mainstay in FC Copenhagen’s first squad, having played in nearly 70 senior games.

This season, the young winger has been especially outstanding. scoring ten goals in 27 games for the senior team in all competitions.

Bardghji scored a goal in Copenhagen’s UEFA Champions League match against Manchester United last month, demonstrating exceptional play.

Major league teams take notice

As previously indicated, Barcelona has noticed Bardghji’s surge this season, but they are not the only team interested in him; Chelsea, Juventus, and Bayer Leverkusen are among the others.

According to the SPORTS story, Barça saw him in action last year, heard good things about him, and is still keeping an eye on him.

Bardghji will begin his final year of employment with FC Copenhagen next summer. His current contract with the team expires in 2025. Because of this, he presents an alluring business possibility to potential suitors; it is unclear whether Barcelona will make a bid.
