Uruguay defeated Argentina 2-0 this Thursday at La Bombonera in the fifth round of the Qualifiers. La Celeste’s goals were scored by Ronald Araújo in the 40th minute and Darwin Núñez in the 86th minute.
The match was refereed by Colombian Wilmar Roldán, and the VAR referee was Yadir Acuña.
Argentine star Lionel Messi said that Uruguay found the game while Argentina could not find the ball. “They are a physical team that works well,” he said. The striker mentioned coach Marcelo Bielsa and said “his hands can be seen”.
For his part, Darwin Núñez expressed his joy at the dedication of his teammates and highlighted the new generation of blue football players. “Suárez is a plus for me, he always gives me advice,” he said.
