Barcelona’s transfer goals change all the time, so they can be shaped in different ways. La Blaugrana doesn’t know what they want to do or if they will succeed until they make their last move. Barcelona is still interested in more than one player at the moment.
Their main goal is to sign a center back in the summer who can improve the team and play in place of Sergio Busquets for good. Barcelona wants some names but can’t get them because they cost too much.
This is where and why a certain Dutchman comes in. In the past, 24-year-old Mats Wieffer has also been linked to Barcelona. But it looks like something new has happened in the last few days.
According to SPORT, Barcelona wants the Dutch defensive star again. He is no longer just a name on a long list of goals, though. He is now a top priority because he is attainable and of a high quality, which builds trust and confidence.
He plays for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie right now. He’s also on the Dutch National Team. If he does play in this year’s international games, he will likely play in the middle of the field with Frenkie De Jong, a star player for Barcelona. Their relationship seems to be going well, which Barcelona might like.
Barcelona also thinks it would cost about €25 million to get him, which makes him a cheaper option than some of the other players they want. Bad for them, they’re not the only ones after Wieffer’s name.
Another team in La Liga that is said to be after him is Atletico Madrid. It looks like Diego Simeone likes the 24-year-old defensive player more after playing against him in the Champions League group stages. He will try to make it hard for Barcelona to sign him.
