On Friday, Taylor Swift smashed the stage at the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the first night of her Australian Eras tour. It was the biggest show of her career.
People were shocked when the 34-year-old global superstar walked out in style for the highly-anticipated show. It was the start of her first Australian tour since 2018.
For the 96,000 eager Swift fans who came to Melbourne for the big night, she pulled out all the stops and gave her usual high-energy show.
Australia was crazy about Taylor Swift before the event, and almost 100,000 people came to the MCG to see her. It was her biggest show ever.Even though she had already played in big sports stadiums across the US, the first night of her Australian tour broke records because she had never played for more than 74,000 people.
Taylor told the crowd of 96,000 people that this was the biggest show she had ever done, whether it was on this tour or any other tour she had been on.”That’s the way you see me tonight—the way I feel like a star because so many of you wanted to hang out with us in Melbourne on Saturday night!”
Aside from the huge crowds inside the venue, even more people stood outside, even though they didn’t have tickets, to hear the epic show.
Taylor set records when she stormed the stage wearing her jewel-encrusted, signature pink and silver leotard. She finished her outfit with knee-high boots that matched.In keeping with her tour tradition of wearing multiple outfit changes, Taylor later changed into a stunning gold minidress with tassels and paired it with sparkly boots.She altered her wardrobe to reflect the fashion and atmosphere of every “Era.” Additionally, she displayed her wild side by donning a one-legged jumpsuit with vivid red accents.
She also wore many beautiful dresses, such as a lilac dress with a layered tulle skirt and a bright orange outfit while she put on a spectacular show.
As she always does, she also played two surprise songs for the happy crowds in Melbourne. This time, she chose the hits Red and You’re Losing Me.
Then, she showed fans a cover for her upcoming record The Tortured Poets Department that had never been seen before. This made her fans go crazy.With the record cover shown on the screen behind her, she was lying down with her arms around her head and facing the camera.
She talked about the cover while the crowd’s screams could be heard: “This vinyl has an exclusive song called The Bolter, so it’s called the Bolter edition.”She also said of writing the songs, “I think more than any other album, I needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me, just going through things.”
