BREAKING NEWS: PGMOL Releases VAR Audio Revealing Astonishing Luis Diaz Offside Error in Spurs vs. Liverpool; John Terry Responds with One Word πŸ“’βš½

The Premier League referees’ regulating body, PGMOL, has made the VAR audio from Liverpool’s contentious loss to Tottenham available.

On Saturday, Liverpool lost 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a game full of controversial moments.

Referee Simon Hooper sent out both Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota for Jurgen Klopp’s team, and Tottenham went on to steal a stunning victory in the sixth minute of injury time due to an own goal by Joel Matip, a Liverpool defender.

Following the game, PGMOL acknowledged that “significant human error” was the reason Liverpool winger Luis Diaz’s goal was mistakenly ruled out for offside.

When the score was still 0-0, Diaz’s goal was disallowed due to an incredibly fast check by VAR Darren England, during which the typical offside line graphic was not displayed.

Liverpool officially requested the match’s VAR audio from PGMOL, and the audio is now available to the general public. Listen to it down below.

Following the release of the audio, PGMOL also posted the following details on the Premier League website.

“We recognized in a statement that a significant human error had occurred during the aforementioned match, which we recognize should have resulted in a goal being awarded through VAR intervention,” the PGMOL said, echoing what was said shortly after the full-time whistle on Saturday night.

“As with other goal scenarios, the VAR staff examined the goal from every angle. The goal was disallowed for offside by the on-field officials, and the VAR then initiated the right checking phase and process. The second rearmost defender’s foot was correctly positioned on the single 2D line, and the kick-point selection was accurate.

“The image created demonstrated that Luis Diaz was clearly onside, without the need for the insertion of a second line,” the statement continued. The on-field decision was unintentionally confirmed by the VAR when he lost attention and concentration at that precise moment and miscommunicated “check complete.” He took this action without consulting the Assistant VAR, or AVAR.

“Thereupon, the game instantly resumed. After a short while, the Replay Operator and the AVAR questioned the check-complete result with the VAR and requested that he examine the generated image. They pointed out that the initial on-field call had been offside, but that the on-field team had not been informed of this during the match.

“The VAR team then thought about whether the game could be stopped at that point, but they determined that intervention was not possible since play had already resumed and that the VAR protocol within the Laws of the Game would not allowed it to happen.

Below is the audio between the VAR crew and the match officials on the field. PGMOL has reviewed the events that resulted in this inaccurate conclusion, and the lessons learned as a result will be put into practice to reduce the likelihood that mistakes will be made in the future.”

Subsequently, PGMOL released a second statement in which it admitted to the error and verified that VAR officials Dan Cook and Darren England had been removed from the upcoming Premier League games.

“The statement stated that PGMOL has conducted an investigation into the events that resulted in Luis Diaz’s goal being mistakenly disallowed for offside during the Premier League encounter between Tottenham Hotspur FC and Liverpool FC.”

“We recognize that standards were not up to par and told Liverpool about the mistake as soon as the game was over.

“The Premier League has received a comprehensive report that includes the key takeaways and the immediate actions implemented, along with the audio between the on-field officials and the VAR team. They have shared this report with Liverpool FC and all other Premier League clubs.”

“The following crucial lessons have been discovered to reduce the likelihood of a future error based on the evaluation of the VAR and on-field decision-making processes and the use of the decision-making principles:

– Advice for Video Matching The importance of efficiency has always been emphasized by officials, but never at the price of accuracy. This idea will be emphasized once more.

– To improve the clarity of communication about on-field judgments between the VAR team and the referee, a new VAR communication protocol will be devised.

– The VAR will validate the results of the VAR check process with the AVAR as an extra step in the process before confirming the final decision to the on-field officials.

“With a new training program that began this season and focuses on process and best practice for all VARs, AVARs, and Replay Operators in their respective positions, PGMOL is committed to improving VAR performance. Although we have several VARs that are recognized by FIFA, efforts are still being made to establish a specialized group of VAR experts.

“The aforementioned VAR and AVAR were taken out of their remaining Premier League Match Round 7 matches, and they are not scheduled for this weekend’s Match Round 8 matches.

“The FA and PGMOL have also decided to review the policy to permit match officials to officiate games other than those scheduled by UEFA or FIFA.”

John Terry uses one-word after VAR audio footage of Tottenham v Liverpool is released

The VAR audio recording of Luis Diaz’s “offside” goal during Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Tottenham has finally been made public, satisfying everyone’s longing.

Days after the match on Saturday, the serious mistake by the referees made headlines, and at last, Liverpool supporters have gotten what they wanted.

Legendary Chelsea player John Terry only tweeted, “Wow,” upon hearing the audio from Tuesday night’s Tottenham vs. Liverpool match.

The decision-makers made it apparent that only the remarks “directed at him,” as reported by Project Football, were audible to the on-field referee, Simon Hooper, from the people in the VAR room at the time of Luis Diaz’s goal.

Some people may believe that taking this action is the best way to try to move past this problem.

This is how John Terry responded to it all, yet there will be some who won’t take it and will be much more abrasive.

Liverpool proves their value once more.

It’s important to keep in mind that, despite all of the drama, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool put on a fierce fight during the match.

Last but not least, the Reds were the squad that finally managed to knock them off their trophy-winning pedestal.
