On the morning of August 7, Real Madrid ended their summer tour of the US with a 2-1 win over Chelsea.

90th minute: The match is over. There is no injury time in the second half. Real Madrid win their first match of this summer’s tour of the US, while Chelsea lose their second match in a row.

Minute 83: Luka Modric also left the field. During the US tour this summer, the Croatian midfielder played quite a lot.

Minute 77: Rudiger and Diaz leave the field. Real Madrid’s squad now includes many young players but Chelsea cannot gain control of the ball.

Minute 66: Real Madrid withdrew Militao, Rodrygo and Vinicius.

Minute 58: Chelsea sent Caicedo and Mudryk onto the field to replace Sterling and Lavia.

Minute 49: Real Madrid have the answer. Vinicius passes the ball to Diaz, who shoots skillfully but misses the target.

Minute 47: Just entering the field, Lunin made a save for Real Madrid when facing a Chelsea player’s charge.

07:17: Second half begins. Andriy Lunin replaces Courtois for Real Madrid.

Half-time! Real Madrid lead Chelsea 2-1. Vazquez and Diaz score for Los Blancos, while Madueke scores for The Blues.

Minute 39: Goal!!! Enzo Fernandez crossed the ball from the left wing and hit the far post. Madueke jumped high, pressed Fran Garcia and headed the ball to shorten the score for Chelsea.

Minute 36: Sterling crossed well but his teammates couldn’t keep up, the ball cut across Real Madrid’s goal.

Minute 33: Gusto lost the ball in midfield but fortunately Chelsea’s defender covered him in time.

Minute 27: GOAL!!! Real Madrid has the second goal. Diaz runs down the left wing, passes goalkeeper Jorgensen and finishes gently to score.

Minute 22: Goalkeeper Jorgensen saves with his foot after Modric’s shot.

Minute 19: GOAL!!!! Lucas Vazquez opened the scoring for Real Madrid from a pass from Brahim Diaz.

From a quick counter-attack, Vazquez’s shot missed the center of the ball but created a roll beyond the reach of goalkeeper Jorgensen.

Minute 10: Vincius got past Chelsea’s defense but couldn’t score.

Minute 4: During Chelsea’s attack , Sterling had a chance to head the ball but it flew out.

The most noisy thing about Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 was the debut of two new players Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, the rest of their stories were still “quiet” like previous summers, especially friendly matches.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti and his team lost two matches: 0-1 against AC Milan and 1-2 against Barcelona. The only goal belonged to young player Nico Paz, not any star.

But there is no sign of Ancelotti being worried with less than 10 days to go until the European Super Cup against Atalanta. He has a game against Chelsea to prepare for, but still no Mbappe.

The French striker, along with several other stars, have just returned from vacation so will need a few days to regain their fitness.

Meanwhile, Chelsea started a new era with Enzo Maresca as coach so they played a lot of friendly matches. The match against Real Madrid was the 5th match of The Blues.

In the 4 matches played, Chelsea won 1, drew 1, lost 2. Still not the strongest squad, but there are early concerns for Maresca about the possibility of success at Stamford Bridge.

After the match against Real Madrid , Chelsea will also play a friendly match against Inter Milan before entering the new season with a match against Man City – the team they lost 2-4 to in a friendly match on August 4.
