Casemiro was nice to a fan who was on the pitch during Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford and gave him his shirt.
The playmaker took off his shirt and made sure it got to the young fan, who was being dragged away by security for breaking the rules.
United got a very important three points thanks to penalties scored by Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford in the first half after Alejandro Granacho was fouled twice.
They are now eight points behind Aston Villa and three behind Tottenham, even though they have played more games than both teams. However, this keeps their slim Champions League hopes alive.
The United fans cheered and praised Casemiro’s action, and they showed the 32-year-old some love before he went down the tunnel.
He played for the whole 90 minutes, but it wasn’t his best game.
In his game review for Mail Sport, Nathan Salt gave him a five and wrote, “Most of the groans on Saturday lunchtime were reserved for the Brazilian.”
He might lose his job in the summer when Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to make changes to United’s team.
It cost them £60 million to get him from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.
His play was great last season, but it has gotten worse this season, and he has been criticized because United’s play has been all over the place.
Thierry Henry recently talked about why he thought Real Madrid was okay with sending him and Raphael Varabne to Old Trafford.
He said, “One thing you have to give them [Real Madrid] a lot of credit for is being able to build a team while keeping some of the old guard with them so that they can explain things to the new guys coming in.”
“If you look at it, if Kylian Mbappe goes there, they’ll have a team that can rule Europe and their league for about six to seven years, because they’ll all be young.”
“They are very good at knowing when to get rid of players.” No, I’m not talking about people who make sense to get rid of. This is about Cristiano Ronaldo: it was time for him.
“Casemiro needed to come.” It was Ozil’s turn. It was time for Varane, who had more of a knee problem if I understand correctly.
“But if you look at those three—[Luka] Modric, [Toni] Kroos, and Casemiro—they sold the youngest.” Why would you sell the youngest?
“Well, they saw that those two could help [Federico] Valverde, [Aurelien] Tchouameni, and [Eduardo] Camavinga, and they do that so well. You have to give them credit because when you take away the players I just mentioned, they were great for your team at that time.”
