Casemiro was named Manchester United’s September Player of the Month, which shocked fans.
Erik Ten Hag’s Red Devils had a rough month in September. They only won two of their six games across all categories. Fans were shocked to learn that Casemiro, who is 31 years old, had been named Player of the Month.
The defensive midfielder played in all of them and scored two goals against Bayern Munich and another in the 3-0 League Cup win over Crystal Palace.
Besides scoring, the Brazilian has done some other things poorly, and the United center looks open to attack.
For some reason, Casemiro still got 70% of the vote. Bruno Fernandes came in second with 21%, and Diogo Dalot came in third with 9%. Fans were confused by his choice when they heard the news on X, which used to be called Twitter.
According to a fan, “They clearly did not watch him play.”
“Did Stevie Wonder do the voting?” asked a second person.
“How did he get into that then?” typed a third.
“They don’t know what they’re watching, bro,” said someone else.
The first game of October for Manchester United was against Galatasaray. Casemiro was sent off because he took a penalty for the team after Andre Onana made a big mistake.
The next Premier League game for United is against Brentford.
They have been helped by the return of several midfielders and Rasmus Hojlund’s better play.
But a defensive injury problem has left them without their first-choice center back Lisandro Martinez and with only one healthy full-back. This has made sure that the club’s rough start to the season will continue.
After this weekend’s games, there will be a break for international play. Gareth Southgate announced his new England team earlier today.
