It only took JADON SANCHO 49 minutes to match something that took him SEVEN MONTHS to do at Manchester United.
He is 24 years old and is on loan from Manchester United to Chelsea.
He got his first Man of the Match award when he came off the bench at halftime against Bournemouth and set up the game-winning goal.
Because of this, Enzo Maresca gave Sancho the start against West Ham.
Again, he showed his boss that he was trustworthy by setting up Nicolas Jackson’s smart first goal just four minutes in.
He now has two helpers for the Blues in the league.
But at Sancho’s old team, Manchester United, where he never really fit in, it took him an amazing seven months to get to the same league numbers.
Sancho moved from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United in the summer of 2021 in a deal worth £73 million.
But because of the problems at the club, Sancho’s season was all over the place, and he didn’t get his first assist until February against Leeds.
In that game, which Ralf Rangnick’s team won 4–2, he had two goals.
He would add his third assist of the season against Tottenham three games later, but an injury cut his season short before it was over.
He didn’t score his first United goal until his 10th game, which was against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Overall, Sancho scored 12 goals and set up six others for United. However, he missed most of last season because he had a fight with Erik ten Hag, who attacked how he trained.
Ten Hag banned Sancho from first-team training after he responded publicly and didn’t say sorry. The winger was then sent on loan to his old team Borussia Dortmund, where he had a mixed time.
This season, Sancho seemed to have made peace with Ten Hag, but he missed a key penalty in the Community Shield shootout against Manchester City.
He then made a last-minute loan deal to Stamford Bridge, and early signs show that he is back to his old self there.
