Conor Gallagher will return to training at Cobham on Wednesday as he returns to England from Spain with the Chelsea midfielder’s contract to join Atletico Madrid still unclear😠😠

Conor Gallagher, a defender for Chelsea, will train at Cobham again on Wednesday. He flew back from Madrid on Tuesday because his move to Atletico was put on hold.

The young player who came up through the Blues’ school has been in Spain for five days as the details of a £33.7 million move to the capital are worked out between his old club and the big teams in La Liga.

Atletico will have to get rid of one of their own players in order to finish the deal to sign Gallagher. This comes after a hugely successful summer in which they paid £81 million to get Julian Alvarez from Manchester City.

Gallagher and his family have spent the last few days in Spain awaiting confirmation of move

Gallagher has been with the Blues since he was eight years old. He is thought to have been told that he will only be a regular squad player under new boss Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.

But because he is still a Chelsea player, the club is thought to have told him to go back to England while talks continue. Gallagher arrived back in London on Tuesday.

Chelsea has been interested in a number of Atletico stars and seemed like the perfect fit for the club.

Diego Simeone will be forced to lose players in order to gain Gallagher ahead of next season

The people in charge in west London want to pay £34.5 million to get young forward Samu Omorodion.

But at the last minute, the 20-year-old allegedly called off the move. This led Chelsea to become interested in Joao Felix again, who they had signed on loan before.

The young Portuguese starlet spent the second half of the 2022–23 season at Stamford Bridge, but the new boss, Mauricio Pochettino, didn’t think the team needed him.

Atletico Madrid misfit Joao Felix could yet go the other way as the club seek to offload players

The 24-year-old player, who scored four goals in 20 games for Chelsea, is once again being talked about by both teams.

Felix, who Chelsea is thought to be worth £55 million, was offered to Manchester City as a makeweight when they made an initial £64 million deal for Alvarez. This was after Alvarez spent last season on loan at Barcelona.

Felix was sold by Benfica to Atletico for £114 million in July 2019, making him the fourth most expensive player in football history.

Atletico youngster Samu Omorodion is thought to have called off a move to Chelsea late on

The Portugal international played in preseason for Diego Simeone’s team, but his future is still unknown.

If Atletico fails to complete a deal with the Premier League team, Chelsea could be left with a mad player in a locker room that is getting more and more crowded.

The Blues have been very busy in the transfer window so far, and they plan to add even more players to their team as Maresca looks to improve their attack.

Pedro Neto became Chelsea's 10th signing of another busy summer of the Clearlake Capital era on Sunday

Chelsea recently confirmed that they had signed Pedro Neto from Wolves for £54 million. They did this during halftime of their 1-1 friendly against Inter Milan on Sunday.

With the addition of the winger, the west London club now has an amazing 43 players, with 10 new players coming in just this window.
