Cristiáno Ronaldo has talked about his family life outside of football and how his kids have picked up his competing spirit.
Even though he is 39 years old, the Portugal legend is still driven to break football marks.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first goal in football history last week, making him the first player in history to reach 900 goals.
When he talked to his old Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand, the relentless goalscorer said that his desire to be competitive has spread to things he does with his five kids.
“I played Padel every day and was in the Red Sea a few days ago.” He told the Rio Ferdinand Presents show, “When Cristiano Jr. and I get mad, we don’t talk for about two days.”
“This is why I’m happy: even Matteo, the little one, gets competitive, which I like.” It shows that they are unique.
“My kids, they’re just like me.” My kids don’t learn from me, but they watch me because when I lose, I cry or get angry, depending on the time.
“They’re kind of the same, so I always want to win, even when I’m with my kids.” I do not give anything away for free.
Ronaldo has two kids with his lover Georgia Rodriguez and three more with the Argentine-Spanish model. All of their kids were born through a surrogate mother.
His oldest son, Cristiano Jr., wants to be like the famous forward and plays for the youth team of Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, while Ronaldo continues his career with the adult team.
Cristiano Jr., who is 14 years old, has gone with his dad wherever he has played football. He has played for the youth teams of both Juventus and Manchester United.
But Ronaldo doesn’t want to put too much pressure on his son, even though he is getting better at the sport.
He went on, “This generation, it’s hard to tell them something and let them do it.” “They will always look up to me because I show them how to do things every day, whether I’m at home, in practice, or at a game.” They see me work a lot. At the moment, Cristiano wants to be a football player, but I don’t put a lot of pressure on him.
Being the son of Cristiano Sr. already puts pressure on him at age 14. Don’t tell him what to do, but I hope he can become a skilled player one day.
“If he doesn’t make it as a player, he might find another job, but I will always back him.” Because we are famous, we can’t put stress on our kids.
