It is said that Cristiano Ronaldo told Al-Nassr to offer Manchester City player Kevin De Bruyne a deal that he can’t refuse.
Since coming to City from Wolfsburg in 2015, the Belgian has been a key part of their unmatched success.
The 33-year-old’s deal with the Premier League champions ends at the end of the season, and his future in England has not been made clear.
The Sun reports that Ronaldo is a big fan of De Bruyne and has personally asked the people in charge at Al-Nassr to try to get him to join the team.
The star player from Portugal wants his team to do everything they can to get De Bruyne. He thinks it would be a huge win for the Saudi Pro League. Mail Sport reported in February that the Saudi Pro League is ready to step up its efforts to get De Bruyne to leave the Premier League.
When asked about the possibility of moving to the Middle East, De Bruyne, who already makes £300,000 a week at City, said this summer that the “incredible amounts of money” on offer make it an appealing place to go that would be hard to refuse.
He told the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, “I still have one year left on my contract, so I have to think about what could happen.”
“My oldest child is eight years old and has never been anywhere else but England.” He also wants to know how long I will play for City. We will have to handle it in a certain way when the time comes.
“You have to be open to everything when you’re my age.” You’re talking about huge amounts of money at a time when my career might be coming to an end. You have to think about that sometimes.
Also, De Bruyne said, “If I play there for two years, I can make a crazy amount of money.” I had to play football for 15 years before that. I might not even get to that amount yet.
“After that, you need to think about what that might mean.” I haven’t had to think about that yet, though.
De Bruyne is out with a leg injury right now and hasn’t played in any of City’s last six games.
Since moving to the Etihad nine years ago, he has played 388 times and scored 103 goals and set up 171 others.
He has won the Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups, and six Premier League wins since then.
