Liverpool is preparing to play Luton Town at Anfield in a Premier League match on Wednesday after thumping Brentford 4-1 last week. To maintain a comfortable lead at the top of the points table, they will try to earn all three points.
The Reds lead the domestic league table with 57 points from 25 games. Jurgen Klopp’s team can concentrate entirely on winning the Premier League cup because they are not competing in the UEFA Champions League. If they maintain their advantage and go on to win the championship, that will be a historic occasion.
Liverpool’s expected lineup against Luton Town is 4-3-3.
Defence
Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s first-choice keeper, is unlikely to be fit for the match, thus Caoimhin Kelleher will remain the man in the gloves. Conor Bradley is anticipated to be replaced at right-back by Joe Gomez.
Ibrahima Konate, who struggled against Brentford, can start behind Jarell Quansah, even if Virgil van Dijk is probably going to stay in the starting lineup. The regular left-back position will be filled by Andrew Robertson.
Midfield
Following their respective displays of excellence in the last game, Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister once again assume leadership roles in the midfield. Allister was resourceful enough to locate the back of the net, even though Endo demonstrated his intense work ethic. Due to an injury, Curtis Jones will regrettably be unable to participate in the match; Ryan Gravenberch is the clear favourite to take his place.
Attack
Mohamed Salah, who had returned from injury and had even scored and assisted in the previous game, gave Liverpool a significant lift. He’ll open the season with the Reds with Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (knee), Dominik Szoboszlai (thigh), Thiago Alcantara (muscle), Joel Matip (knee), Ben Doak (knee), and Stefan Bajcetic (calf) won’t be available for the selection. Diogo Jota (knee) and Darwin Nunez (unspecified) are subject to fitness.
