According to reports, Liverpool is closely monitoring Fulham player Antonee Robinson in preparation for a possible summer transfer.
In the forthcoming summer transfer window, Liverpool is reportedly targeting the excellent Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson, according to Football Insider.
The 26-year-old USMNT international joined the Cottagers in August 2020 after agreeing to a £2 million transfer from Wigan Athletic. Although Robinson has always shown potential, this season in particular has seen a significant advancement in his growth.
The American, 26, is being used by Fulham manager Marco Silva to channel the team’s play into the offensive third because of his forward-thinking movement and tireless sprinting.
Currently, he is playing the finest football of his career. This season, he has made 29 appearances for Fulham across all competitions, scoring five assists. In 2023–24, he has started every Premier League game for the Cottagers save one.
It should come as no surprise that the USMNT player was linked to Liverpool in the run-up to the January transfer window, but the Reds made no real progress.
Robinson is entering his prime at the age of 26. The USMNT international has been given a platform by Fulham to show off his skills in the best league in Europe, but he is reportedly considering moving up the ladder again.
Given that the defence only signed a new deal about six months ago, keeping him at Craven Cottage until 2028, it’s unknown at this point whether Fulham shares the defender’s openness regarding the move next summer or in the near future.
In the event that Liverpool were to acquire him, he appears to be a useful option. They are partnered with full-backs who enjoy quick ball movement, attacking, creating, and providing an assist. Robinson could probably manage Liverpool’s distinctive style of play because they are a team.
The Reds’ analysis staff is also drawn to Robinson’s off-the-ball abilities as they attempt to continue their counter-pressing and winning control back high up the pitch philosophy in the aftermath of Jurgen Klopp’s departure. It’s unclear whether other teams are considering the 26-year-old in anticipation of a summer transfer.
