Rasmus Hojlund, a scorer for Manchester United, had the best game of his Premier League career in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
Several times this season, the Denmark star has looked very angry. Mostly, he hasn’t been given any service, and yesterday was a lot like that.
He did, however, make the most of the few chances he had. Hojlund scored the first goal less than three minutes in with a strong shot that went through the roof of the net.
Spurs tied the game with a goal from Richarlison, but Hojlund helped United take the lead again before halftime with a beautiful pass to Marcus Rashford.
After the break, Ange Postecoglou’s team tied the game, and the Red Devils couldn’t find the winner. At the very end, Scott McTominay should have scored.
Despite this, there were many good things. Lisandro Martinez finally came back from a foot injury after a long time away. He played well in his short appearance for the team.
After a few months, Rashford scored again at Old Trafford. Hojlund’s performance was a big plus. He has now scored in three straight league games.
Besides the goal he helped set up yesterday, the 20-year-old won all of his dribbles and finished all of his long balls. Seventy-five percent of the time, he won his duels.
Hojlund only lost the ball three times and was unfortunate not to be on the winning team. This has happened a lot in his first season, and United’s defense needs to improve.
Martinez’s return is a huge plus, and Luke Shaw should be back soon. Erik ten Hag should be able to play his best back line in the last few games of the season.
