Football fans can be brutal, and the Manchester United’s Andre Onana wasn’t safe from their scorn after his error helped Galatasaray rescue a Champions League draw against the Red Devils

The jokes kept coming at Andre Onana’s expense even after Manchester United’s Champions League fate was all but sealed at Galatasaray on Wednesday.

The Red Devils dropped two goals in their two-goal lead during the 3-3 draw in Istanbul, and with one game left, they are currently bottom of Group A. Therefore, United needs to win at Old Trafford against Bayern Munich, the group champions, on December 13 and hope that Copenhagen and Gala divide the points in their last game.

And Onana had a good deal of the blame for allowing two free kicks from Hakim Ziyech, the second of which was incredibly saveable by this standard. After Wednesday’s full-time, the Cameroonian footballer was seen on the Rams Park field appearing upset, and social media users couldn’t resist adding insults to the player’s suffering.

Onana, 27, looked into the distance with his hands on his hips before ripping his gloves off in frustration. And one spectator couldn’t help themselves as they commented: “He even dropped his gloves….”

Another joked: “I’m not going to lie, I’m not sure Onana is a GK you know.” The midweek disappointment was far from the first time the £52million summer signing has found himself in the headlines for an avoidable mistake during his debut year with United.

While he’ll continue to be berated for his performance in Manchester United’s 3-3 draw to Galatasaray, it’s evident that the game has taken a toll on Andre Onana.
