In a trailer for an upcoming series about his life, Manchester United winger Antony is shown holding back tears as he talks about experiencing “a lot of hardship.”
For £85.5 million, the Brazilian moved to the Red Devils from Ajax one year ago.
While being filmed, Antony started to cry.
The winger became down in tears while discussing his homeland.
Before joining Ajax in 2020, Antony, 23, started his career in Sao Paulo, his home Brazil.
Antony can be seen crying in a forthcoming two-part movie called “It All Starts With a Dream” as he remembers his childhood in what appears to be his former neighborhood.
He has previously spoken of growing up in the “little hell” neighborhood of Inferninho in Sao Paulo, where drug dealing and killings were common.
The Brazil international identified himself as “a boy who struggled a lot” in the 433 clip shown by Puma.
“A boy who experienced great hardship.”
Through tears, he continued, “I will carry this place here, for the rest of my life.” when speaking of his hometown.
In the brief climax, he is seen visiting local children and performing his distinctive spin skill.
Last year, Antony displayed a flashy double-spin against FC Sheriff in a Euroleague game that cost him.
When manager Erik ten Hag hooked him in the 38th minute, shortly before halftime, the feat was accomplished.
Recently, when Facundo Pellistri was rumored to be moving on loan to Sheffield United, Man United supporters yelled, “it should be Antony.”
Someone else said, “Should be Antony leaving ffs.”
While another screamed, “Would rather loan Antony.”
Third person said, “Send Antony there.”
