On Tuesday night, Cole Palmer left the football field for the red carpet at the GQ Men of the Year Awards. He was with his lady.
Palmer was dressed to the nines for the fancy event at London’s Kensington Roof Gardens, where he stood for pictures with Connie Grace, an influencer.
Palmer and Grace, who is also from Manchester, are said to have been dating for about three months, but they only went public with each other on Tuesday.
The Chelsea star wore a black suit and bowtie, and Grace wore a black dress that matched his and showed off her toned middle.
The football player made sure it wasn’t just him and Grace, though, by having his mother Marie with him in the city.
They stood for pictures together, which made Marie very proud because her son was the center of attention after a big year for club and country.
Another player on Palmer’s team, Noni Madueke, also went to the event. He had just played well for England against Greece and the Republic of Ireland.
While Bukayo Saka wasn’t playing, Madueke took advantage of his chance and set up a goal in England’s 3-0 win in Athens last Thursday.
He didn’t play as well on Sunday at Wembley, but England blew Ireland out 5-0 in the second half to win the Nations League and move up. It was Lee Carsley’s last game as acting manager.
But Madueke chose a slightly less dressy look than Palmer. He wore a black sweater over a white shirt, but he still looked the part.
Both Palmer and Madueke are expected to start training again right away on Wednesday. Chelsea’s next game is at noon in Leicester on Saturday.
Last week, the former had to pull out of the England team because of an injury. He has since returned to training, though, and should be ready for this weekend’s game at the King Power Stadium.
Another talented English player who hasn’t played in the last week is Kobbie Mainoo. However, he was at Tuesday night’s party.
They wore a black leather jacket, black pants, and a simple white T-shirt.
The young midfielder has been hurt for a few weeks now, but he was back on the training field for the first session under new Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim on Monday. He looks like he will be in the running for a starting spot when the Red Devils play Ipswich on Sunday.
