Erik ten Hag wants to bring Brian Brobbey back to Manchester United to help the team’s attack. He is interested in another former player.
United’s forwards have had a tough time scoring goals in the league this season. Rasmus Hojlund, who cost £64 million, has scored just two goals so far.
Fans of wings Markus Rashford and Antony have also had trouble scoring, and the £73m Jadon Sancho is back on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Brobbey has scored nine goals and set up four others in the Eredivisie so far. He has done all of this while playing for an Ajax team that is having a tough time.
Ten Hag was linked with signing the Dutch international during the summer, and it looks like that interest hasn’t gone away.
Before, this person was in charge of Ajax and gave Brobbey his first start for the Dutch giants.
In 2022, Brobbey turned down a move to Old Trafford, even though ten Hag called him personally to try to convince him.
The star told Der Telegraaf, “Erik ten Hag called me and said that at United, my agent would get millions of euros and I could make a lot more money than I did at Ajax.” We knew for sure, though, that we wanted to go to Ajax.
“Manchester United wanted to sign me, but I refused to go back to Ajax.” My lawyer, Jose Fortes Rodriguez, even dropped a big chunk of the sell-on option to make that happen.
