Erik Ten Hag is back in Manchester after being fired from Manchester United more than three weeks ago.

The 54-year-old Dutchman was fired by the Red Devils at the end of October after the team had its worst start to a Premier League season ever.

His two-year stay at Old Trafford was a mixed bag. They won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, but the Premier League finish of eighth place last season was poor.

He flew back to Holland right away after losing his job and being replaced by Ruben Amorim.

A game between Heracles Almelo and NAC Breda was seen in Ten Hag’s home country.

Now, though, Ten Hag is back in the city because Amorim is about to lead his first game as Manchester United manager at Ipswich on Sunday.

He was seen leaving the Italian restaurant chain Piccolino in Manchester on Monday after being the head coach of Ajax.

He left through the front door with his wife Bianca. His director Kees Vos and other members of his management team were also said to be there.

Ten Hag smiled for the cameras as he left.

The Manchester Evening News says that he also took the time to get rid of all of his things from his house.

At the same time, Amorim, who replaced Ten Hag, led his first training practice earlier on Monday.

He only spent time with a few first-team players because the rest were away on international service.

The practice taught us that Kobbie Mainoo is the most important player, Antony is being used at wing-back, and Amorim is already shaping up in a 3-4-3 formation.

Man Utd was in the bottom half of the Premier League table when Ten Hag left the team.

Before the international break, Ruud van Nistelrooy had won all four of his games as temporary manager.

But even if they beat Ipswich, it would only be their third Premier League win in eight games.
