Erling Haaland wants Real Madrid to move ‘tomorrow’ and could leave Manchester City for $109m, reports AS

Erling Haaland, a scorer for Manchester City, would “sign for [Real] Madrid tomorrow” if he could. According to AS, he can do so for a relatively low fee of $109.5 million (€100 million) if Los Blancos pays that much to activate his release option.

They paid the same amount of money as Borussia Dortmund ($65.6 million or €60 million) to get the Norwegian out of his deal and sign him with the Premier League giants in the summer of 2022.

Haaland then had a great first season in Manchester, where he broke several goalscoring records and helped Pep Guardiola’s team win the treble.

This included both the player and the club’s first Champions League title, which they won by beating champions Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

At the moment, both of these European giants are still in the game to win the big-eared prize in 2023/2024. They may play each other again late in the knockout phase.

But Madrid is already looking to improve its team for the next season, no matter how Carlo Ancelotti does as head coach after being recently hired.

Foot Mercato says that president Florentino Perez has already made an offer to Kylian Mbappe, which the French player, who will be a free agent at Paris Saint-Germain on June 30, has accepted in the last few days.

In the Spanish press, though, Haaland is being talked about as a possible “Plan B” for Madrid in case they can’t sign both guys.

According to AS, Madrid has gotten “good news” about Haaland’s release clause, which was thought to be €200 million or $219 million.

The newspaper has learned that this fee only applies to Premier League sides. For any possible buyer from outside the British Isles, the value is cut in half, to a much more reasonable $109 million (€100 million).
