Everton are still in the midst of a relegation battle in the Premier League and will not make any firm decisions on Amadou Onana’s future until June. If Everton is relegated in the coming weeks, they may be forced to sell Goodison Park to mobilize financial resources.
Barcelona have been linked with Onana for nearly 12 months as part of plans to strengthen their midfield. The Catalans are looking to secure a lower price and Everton may be willing to lower that price if certain terms are met.
According to the latest update from Football Insider, The Toffees are likely to reduce their starting figure to £50 million. That fee is closer to the amount Barcelona is willing to pay for the 22-year-old player.
However, Barca still needs to be wary of Bayern Munich. The Telegraph reported that Die Roten wants to take advantage of Barcelona’s competition to get a better hand on their opponents. In addition, Arsenal is another club that wants to recruit the Belgian star.
