Austrian international football player David Alaba is presently with Real Madrid. Throughout his career, Alaba has been surrounded by success, winning three Champions Leagues and eleven league titles while playing for Bayern Munich and the Spanish powerhouses. Away from the field, Alaba has made a name for herself in the fashion industry, frequently seeing the best designers in Europe on the front row. Alaba attended several Paris Fashion Week shows this season, including those by Ami, Rhude, and Wales Bonner. With the latter, he celebrated the English designer’s most recent collection with a post-show supper.

Speaking with David Alaba
What about Paris Fashion Week stood out to you?
It was, for me, the Wales Bonner show followed by the dinner Grace and I hosted.
Which Wales Bonner show look was your favorite?
I was very obsessed with the combination of the light-colored denim leggings and the dark-blue leather jacket with sequins.
Designer brands are getting more and more creative with their collections, drawing influence from football. Recently, Off White, Martine Rose, and Balenciaga created their own uniforms, while Botter debuted their version of the Adidas Predators on the catwalk. How do you feel about the connection between football and fashion?
I do see this relationship in a positive light. In reverse, the influences are also evident in football; at Real Madrid, we worked with Y3 last year. I adore fashion, and I can attest to the fact that many of my coworkers share my enthusiasm and frequently attend fashion weeks.
What would you say about your own style?
I’m not sure whether there’s a term for this; to me, it all comes naturally. How does wearing this outfit make me feel? Here, too, I’m highly adaptable; I don’t stick to a routine.
Who, in the Real Madrid dressing room, do you believe is the most stylish, other from yourself?
In my opinion, Camavinga!
